weekend project?

I am off to North Dakota this weekend to celebrate the most amazing high school grad in the world!!!  I can hardly wait to see her and the rest of my family.

Off to the lake for the weekend?  Or staying home to relax?  If you are:  here's an idea for an amazing DIY project that I hope to someday create.  For the same price as a vente latte you can buy this pattern and make beautiful seat covers :)

wallpaper

It keeps growing on me. After a weekend of babysitting with cable I became even more fond of it due to a couple of hgtv makeovers con wallpaper.
pinks and grays--hgtv.com
the wallpaper is romo fabrics "kenzan"
believe it or not this gorgeousness is wallpaper company
from homedepot.com
also homedepot.com--a strong stripe like this would be great on an accent wall with 3 red, yellow, green, eggplant, really any bold colored walls.  It also would be gorgeous framed on the top half of a room with crown molding...the bottom painted a contrasting color.  It ALSO would be a great frame wall background :)
would be so beautiful with coral accents.
little leaves from ferm-living.com
very modern but fun, "delight" from modgreenpod.com
also from modgreenpod.com, jubilee
very classic--one of my favorites.
these two are from anthro-I prefer the top pattern but the bottom would be fun on an accent wall in a child's room.  The gold pattern would look amazing with grays, creams, navys.
Two more nice uses of wallpaper via hgtv.com
I think wallpaper looks best if you have nice molding...it's a form of art that needs a frame.

pretty woman.

my new favorite photo...
it will be framed.
it's of my lovely mom.
during her senior year of H.S.

for my sailing mama.

My mom really loves shoes, especially fun leather flats but can't really wear them because she is constantly getting wet on dinghy rides, etc. She has worn out her favorite pair and needs a new option.

During my visit to Florida, we saw some plastic Sam Edelman flats at TJ Maxx that were actually really cute. They were not the right size though....so I have been looking around when I have a moment and have found a couple of nice, plastic options :)

here you go mama, and any other sailors out there!

Two Tone Kartell's
Melissa Plastic Dreams (that name is really weird.) "Adanna"
available at nordstrom, sax, and other online boutiques...just google them.

Melissa "Gold"
these are all available in many fun colors.
Melissa "Marine Flat"

One of Melissa's designs with Vivienne Westwood.

one third down, two thirds to go.

Yesterday, JD finished his first year of law school.  Two more thirds 'til he's J.D.J.D.

One of the reasons I started this blog--kind of--was because I thought that maybe law school was going to be this crazy, insane, awful time where I would need to talk about funny things that happened to me as a law school wife.  That's why my friend AP and I came up with "everything from tortes to torts (a first year law school class)."

The truth of the matter is...I still don't really know what torts is/are?.  And it was a great year.  I've never felt so close to my husband and I've never had so much fun with him.  It wasn't easy.  Especially for him.  All I did was cook his meals, clean his clothes and cheer him on.  But we had way less money, way less going out to dinner, way less time to talk, way less watching tv, working out or going on walks together...way less A LOT...and it was still an amazing time.  Thanks, JD--can't wait to live the rest of my life with you.  You are the BEST and I am so, so, proud of you.
